Itaru completed PhD in field of immunology at University of Queensland in 2005. With over 10 years research work experience at in both PC2 and PC3 laboratories, Itaru has wealth of experience in the practical aspects of work in such facilities with animals, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals. He has worked as a PC3 Facility Manager for 8 years and previously as a safety advisor for 2 years. With an intimate knowledge on the compliance, governance, financial and operational management, and awareness on the practical aspects of the research laboratory operations, he has lead a multi-functional team of mechanical engineers, Building Management Systems specialists and mechanical/electrical technicians during major upgrade projects to further improve operation of the state of art facilities.
