Dr Pengfei Cai is currently a Senior Research Officer at QIMR Berghofer and Adjunct Associate Professor at UQ and QUT. Cai has pioneered serological and molecular diagnostic methods for schistosomiasis at QIMR Berghofer.
Over the past several years, he has received five grants in China and five grants in Australia as CIA, totaling over two million Australian Dollars. Particularly, he is a Lead PI to represent the three joint international collaboration teams in a recent NHMRC e-Asia grant.
He has established productive collaborations with scientists in China, the Philippines, and most recently Uganda.
