About

I am PhD student in the Cardiac Bioengineering Group at QIMR. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Otago in 2013 and later returned to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Science.

Prior to commencing my PhD, I worked as a Research Assistant in the field of critical care medicine, whereby I was involved in projects encompassing heart failure, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), heart transplantation and sepsis.

The primary focus of my PhD is to improve our understanding of transcriptional regulation in cardiovascular disease using human cardiac organoids. My work will involve large-scale perturbation screens and incorporate techniques including CRISPRi and RNA Sequencing.
