About
I’m a PhD student in the Cardiac Bioengineering Laboratory. I did a Bachelor in Biomedical Sciences (Radboud University, the Netherlands) after which I joined James’ lab for an internship on cardiac regeneration during my Master Molecular Mechanisms of Disease (Radboud University). I returned to QIMR Berghofer to do my PhD, continuing my work on heart regeneration. Currently, I use the human cardiac organoids to study why the human heart loses the ability to regenerate shortly after birth, with a focus on the consequences of endothermy, metabolism and cellular remodelling.
