About

Professor Juliet French is the Cancer Research Program Director and Head of the Functional Genetics Laboratory at QIMR Berghofer.

She completed her PhD at the Institute of Molecular Bioscience, University of Queensland and continued her post-doctoral studies in the School of Molecular Biosciences. She moved to QIMR Berghofer as a Team Head in 2013 and was promoted to Senior Group Leader in 2022.

Research Skills

CRISPR screens, single-cell RNAseq, long-read RNAseq, ChIPseq, Capture HiC, Hi-ChIP, gain-of-function and loss-of-function assays, post-GWAS, bioinformatics for IncRNA discovery.

Area of Interest

Understand the relevance of noncoding RNAs for breast and ovarian cancer emergence and progression, ultimately to support the development of new treatments and interventions.
