About
Patricia Valery is a medical epidemiologist with extensive experience in public health, Indigenous health, patterns of care, and health service research. In 2015 she established a program of research in chronic liver disease epidemiology at QIMR Berghofer that incorporates development of a specific health needs assessment instrument for cirrhosis, patient reported outcomes, qualitative and data linkage studies.
As liver disease and liver cancer disproportionately affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, her work incorporates a particular focus on First Nations Australians with chronic liver disease and liver cancer.
