Satomi Okano joined Statistic Unit as a biostatistician at QIMR Berghofer in 2017 after completing Master of Biostatistics. Since then, she has worked on a number of projects collaboratively with scientists and clinicians at QIMR Berghofer and Mater and Metro North hospitals, applying a broad range of statistical methods including survival analysis, longitudinal analysis, predictive modelling and machine learning to diverse datasets from biological data (e.g., laboratory and Omics data) to clinical data.

Her previous experience working in cancer research laboratories (2007-2017) has provided her with a solid foundation and continuing interest in basic, translational and clinical research. She is dedicated to improving biomedical research by providing statistical support to the scientific research community.
