Associate Professor Penelope Lind is a senior researcher in the Psychiatric Genetics Group and her research is underpinned by a strong foundation in statistical genetic methodologies used in complex trait analysis in large-scale genetic and phenotypic datasets. Her primary research interest focuses on advancing our knowledge of the genetic architecture underlying substance use, addictive behaviors, and other mental health disorders. A/Prof Lind also has broad experience in the large-scale cohort recruitment from the public for mental health studies, including the ClozaGene, Australian Genetics of Bipolar Disorder and census ADHD cohorts.

A/Prof Lind has been a named Chief Investigator on >$7M of competitive grants, including five Australian NHMRC Project Grants, with one awarded as CIA, and three MRFF grants focused on pharmacogenomics in mental health. Her publication record includes 124 peer reviewed publications with >16,000 citations and an H-index of 52 (Scopus, 15/01/2025). She has a Field-Weighted Citation Impact of 6.47 for the period 2015-2024 (SciVal, 15/01/2025).
